چکیده

We calculate CP-violating rate asymmetries in the rare radiative decays B → Kγ and B → ργ. They arise because of the interference between leading-order penguin amplitudes and one-gluon corrections with absorptive phases, and provide unambiguous evidence for direct CP violation. Complementing earlier studies, we also investigate gluon exchange with the ‘spectator’ quark. The bound state effects in the exclusive matrix elements are taken into account by a covariant model, which yields a branching ratio BR(B → Kγ) = (4 − 5) × 10 in good agreement with the observed value. The bound state effects increase the CP asymmetry, which is of order 1% in the channel B → Kγ and 15% for B → ργ. partially supported by Schweizerischer Nationalfonds.

Direct CP Violation in B → π+π−π Determination of α without discrete ambiguity

Direct CP violation in the hadronic decays B̄0 → π+π−π0 is investigated near the peak of the ρ0 taking into account the effect of ρ−ω mixing. Branching ratios for processes B±,0 → ρ±,0π±,0 and B → ωπ are calculated as well. We find that the CP violating asymmetry is strongly dependent on the CKM matrix elements. For a fixed N eff c , the CP violating asymmetry, aCP , has a maximum of order −40% ...

Direct CP Violation in B → X s γ Decays as a Signature of New Physics

We argue that the observation of a sizable direct CP asymmetry A CP in the inclusive decays B → Xsγ would be a clean signal of New Physics. In the Standard Model, A CP can be calculated reliably and is found to be below 1% in magnitude. In extensions of the Standard Model with new CP-violating couplings, large CP asymmetries are possible without conflicting with the experimental value of the br...

The B → X d l + l − decay in general two Higgs doublet model

The branching ratio, forward–backward asymmetry and CP violating asymmetry for B → Xd l+l− decay, in framework of the general two Higgs doublet model, with extra phase angle in the charged–Higgs–fermion coupling, are calculated. It is shown that studying the CP violating asymmetry is an efficient tool for establishing new

Xdll in a CP softly broken two Higgs doublet model

We study the differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry, CP-violating asymmetry in the forward-backward asymmetry and polarization asymmetries of the final lepton in the B → Xd l+l−decays in the context of a CP softly broken two Higgs doublet model. We analyze the dependencies of these observables on the model parameters by paying a special attention to the...

1 / 2 Enhancement and CP Violation for K → ππ , K → ππγ Weak Decays

Abstract Data indicate that ∆I=3/2 transitions account for 4.5–4.7% of both CP conserving and CP violating K→2π decays, as well as CP conserving radiative K→ππγ processes. Observed K → ππγ/ππ branching ratios are shown to scale near α/π or α/2π. The KL-KS mixing angle φ and the semileptonic weak-rate asymmetry δ are reviewed, and shown to be consistent with data. Also, K→ 2π ∆I =1/2 dominance i...
